Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 13, 2026 · Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how IPTV Box — Live TV Player ("IPTV Box", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Android application (package com.mysmartiptv.medialiveplayer.cast). IPTV Box is a free, ad-supported media player tool. It does not contain built-in channels and does not provide any audiovisual content — it plays only the playlists you add yourself.
Quick summary
- IPTV Box is a player only. Your M3U / M3U8 playlists and the streams they point to stay on your device — we do not upload, store, or host your channels.
- The app is free and supported by ads. Because of this, it embeds advertising and analytics SDKs (Google AdMob, Google Firebase, Adjust, and the Meta/Facebook SDK) that process limited device and usage data.
- These SDKs may use your Advertising ID and approximate (IP-derived) location to serve and measure ads and analyze app performance.
- For users in the EEA, UK, and similar regions, we show a consent prompt (Google UMP) before personalized ads are used.
- There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions in IPTV Box, so we never process payment data.
- You can reset or limit your Advertising ID, and contact us at any time to exercise your privacy rights.
1. Information we process directly
IPTV Box is designed to keep your content on your device. We process only the limited categories below.
Your playlists and streams
Any M3U / M3U8 playlist URLs or files you add, the channels they contain, your favorites, and your recently-watched list are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit these to our servers, and we do not host or proxy your streams. When you play a channel, your device connects directly to the stream source you provided.
Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Why we need it |
|---|---|
Internet / Network access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) | To load and play the streams in the playlists you add, and to deliver ads. |
Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) | Used by our advertising and attribution SDKs to serve and measure ads. Required to declare on Android 13+. |
| Cast / network discovery (where applicable) | To find and connect to Smart TVs and cast devices on your local network for HD playback. |
| Notifications (Android 13+, optional) | To show optional app notifications. You can decline this at the system prompt. |
Local storage and preferences
App settings, your imported playlists, favorites, and recently-watched history are kept in the app's private storage on your device.
Support communications
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
2. Third-party SDKs we use
Because IPTV Box is free and ad-supported, it embeds the following third-party software development kits (SDKs). Each operator acts as an independent data controller for the data it processes. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Google Firebase
Operated by Google LLC. We use Firebase for analytics, crash reporting
(Crashlytics), push messaging (Cloud Messaging), and Remote Config.
Data processed: app instance identifier, device model, operating-system
version, language, country, screen views, anonymized usage events, and crash stack traces.

Google AdMob
Operated by Google LLC. AdMob serves the in-app advertising that keeps the app free.
Data processed: Google Advertising ID, coarse IP-derived location, and
ad-interaction events. Personalized vs. non-personalized ads depend on your consent collected
through the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) where required.

Adjust
Operated by Adjust GmbH (an AppLovin company). We use Adjust to measure app
installs and marketing attribution and to help prevent ad fraud.
Data processed: Advertising ID, a hashed device fingerprint, install
timestamp, and conversion events.

Facebook (Meta) SDK
Operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. We use the Meta SDK for advertising
attribution and measurement. It is not used for login or to access your Facebook profile.
Data processed: Advertising ID, app install and open events, and conversion events.

Your choices regarding these SDKs
- Reset or delete your Advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads) to reset or delete your advertising identifier.
- Decline personalized ads: where shown, decline consent in the in-app UMP prompt; you will then see only non-personalized ads.
- Opt out of interest-based ads: use the system-level "Opt out of Ads Personalization" toggle on your device.
- Withdraw at any time: email us (see Contact) to request that we stop processing your data where we are able to.
3. What we do not collect
To be clear about our limits, IPTV Box does not:
- read your SMS messages or call logs;
- access your contacts;
- collect precise (GPS) location;
- access your camera or microphone;
- upload, store, or host your playlists or streams on our servers;
- process any payment-card data (there are no in-app purchases);
- sell or rent your personal data to data brokers.
Please note: because the app is ad-supported, the advertising and attribution SDKs listed in Section 2 do receive limited data (such as your Advertising ID) for advertising and measurement purposes. We are transparent about this rather than claiming we share nothing with advertising partners.
4. How we use information
- To operate the media player and play the content you add.
- To enable casting to Smart TVs on your local network.
- To display and measure advertising that keeps the app free.
- To analyze app performance, diagnose crashes, and improve stability.
- To measure install attribution and marketing effectiveness.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
5. Sharing and third parties
We share data only as described in this policy:
- Google — app distribution via Google Play, plus Firebase and AdMob services.
- Adjust — install attribution and fraud prevention.
- Meta — advertising attribution and measurement.
- Legal compliance — where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Data retention
- On-device data (playlists, favorites, history, settings) — kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Firebase Analytics — up to 14 months (Google default).
- Firebase Crashlytics — individual crash records up to 90 days.
- Adjust — up to 24 months.
- Meta SDK — approximately 2 years per Meta's retention defaults.
- AdMob — per Google's advertising-platform defaults.
- Support emails — up to 24 months after your request is resolved.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EEA/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), and similar laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of cross-context behavioral (interest-based) advertising.
- Manage advertising data via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Withdraw ad consent through the in-app UMP prompt where shown.
- Email us to exercise any of these rights; we respond within 30 days.
Because most of your data stays on your device, you can also clear it directly by deleting playlists in the app, clearing app storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.
8. Children's privacy
IPTV Box is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the SDKs we use are not configured for child-directed treatment under the Google Play Families policy. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
The SDK operators above may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms maintained by each provider.
10. Security
Data on your device is protected by the Android application sandbox and scoped storage. Network connections to advertising and analytics endpoints use HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, noted in the app or in our Google Play release notes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
